ROTOR BALANCING: A NEW PHILOSOPHY
The USB Balancer is a triaxial analyser for simple, cost-effective balancing of rotating parts using the USB port of a PC. The USB Balancer features a user-friendly interface that allows even inexperienced users to balance electrospindles and rotary tables for turning operations, following an automatic procedure.

After measuring the initial unbalance, this is corrected in three simple steps. A report indicating that balancing has been completed successfully is generated at the end of the procedure.

The USB Balancer is a handy, user-friendly, high precision device. The absence of any additional components and the use of practical magnetic supports ensure fast, safe installation and balancing can be performed directly on-board the machine, avoiding the need for complicated operations to shut machinery down and high standstill costs.

Developed by Sequoia IT to meet the needs of the machine tool sector, the USB Balancer has rapidly become the ideal product for static balancing of spindles and electrospindles provided with balancing holes, which frequently need checking and re-balancing.

The USB Balancer is compact and robust, making it ideal for use even in the most difficult industrial environments. With a protection rating of IP67, shock resistance of up to 10,000 g and digital communication for a high level of immunity to electromagnetic interference, the USB Balancer is the perfect on-site instrument.

The use of MEMS accelerometers prevents any loss of calibration, thus avoiding the need for the routine calibration checks required with conventional systems.

The reliability of measurements is constantly guaranteed through a self-diagnosis system.

Static balancing in 4 steps
The working principle of the USB Balancer is based on a mathematical algorithm for balancing rotating bodies without requiring the use of any additional components such as tachometer sensors or stroboscopic lamps.

The software guides you through the simple procedure to correct the unbalance.

  1. Measurement of the initial unbalance
  2. Addition of a test weight in position 0°
  3. Shifting of the test weight to position 120°
  4. Shifting of the test weight to position 240°

After completing these four steps, the USB Balancer reports the initial unbalance and the corrections needed for balancing in the plane and defines the angular positions and the weights to be added.

A report indicating the result of the operation is generated automatically. This can easily be stored or printed.
